The Quiz has been running since about 1652 (or thereabouts), certainly much longer than my 22 years in Amateur Radio. It's origins are lost in time but I believe my friend Dave (VK7OB) had a hand in its birth.

It runs every (most) Thursday evenings at 8.30pm Eastern Time on 3.680MHz.

The Quiz normally comprises 20 general knowledge questions and lasts for about one hour.

It is a very relaxed and fun general knowledge quiz - if you are a particularly competitive person then The Quiz is not for you. Equally, if you think Google will give you an advantage please go elsewhere - Google users are very easy to spot and not welcome.

There are only 1.5 quiz rules:
0.5 - No Amateur Radio questions, well... maybe one but no more!
1 - The Quiz Master is always right - even when he's wrong! (which never happens)

If you win The Quiz you are required to set and run it the following week - this is not set in stone and we realise sometimes people are not able to do this (work, family etc) and we'll let you off the hook a couple of times but after that... you need to carry your share of the load. Except it's not really a load and most of us enjoy setting it and it's great to experience the vastly different quizzes people develop. There is no set formula so if you only wish to do 15 questions that's fine.
